Igen generator cover

Easy to install. Takes 30 to 40 minutes. I have not had to use it during a hurricane yet so I'm holding my review at 4 stars based on everything else. The material seems good and I think that it will help protect my generator while it runs.

Metal tube construction, weak.

The cover is great for what it does and the tubes that make up the frame work are fine unless anything moderately heavy is placed on top of it during storage. I had a box on mine and if it's shifted at all toward the outside, the pressure against the frame metal of the generator bends the metal tubes that frame the cover together. Also, it's been some time since assembling it but the instructions were less than clear on the final steps. For the price the tubes should've been thicker with a better attachment scheme of the cover frame to the generator should have been employed, other than using just a bunch of velcro straps. It essentially is my error they're bent but it's tough when you don't have a lot of space in your garage to store things. I'm going to try reinforcing the tubes with some 1/4" Dia. hardwood dowels for now, reassemble it and hopefully that'll do the trick.

Great cover for my needs.

This seems like a great design. I previously used another popular running cover for my portable emergency generator. That one was not designed for long-term storage or even moderate long-term (e.g. weeks) exposure to the elements and quickly degraded when left out...rubber and elastic parts becoming dried out and useless. The IGAN cover looks to solve both of those problems...it can be left on and tightened down for storage or opened up to run while providing adequte protection from weather. As I assembled, it appeared at first to be flimsy, but assembly was simple and when all together became very solid. Elegant simplicity of design. The assembly instructions aren't great, but it's easy enough and the pics help a lot. It remains to be seen how durable it will be in long-term use. If there is a design change I would suggest, it would be to provide a "middle" setting for the side curtains, especially the one over the electrical panel. Fully "up" exposing the panel would seem to be unsafe in weather; fully "down" requires snaking cables up from below or the curtain laying on the power cable(s). I plan to improvise a solution to this, but it would seem easy enough to build in.

Built great! Easy to assemble

This cover fits great and was super easy to install on my DuroMax XP1300EH generator. Overall the instructions are decent and assembly and install took less than an hour. The cover seems to be made of a very nice thick material and the Velcro on the cover is strong and seems like it will last. No buyers regret on this cover
